The skin below our eyes is much thinner and sensitive than the rest of the face. That’s why the veins in that area are visible and, in moments of fatigue, the look is the first thing it reveals. The signs are dark circles and bags. In both cases may be possible-due to fatigue or illness-or standing-by inheritance. Dark circles, moreover, vary in color: purple, green or brown, depending on skin tone of the person.

Many factors influence the appearance of puffiness and dark circles: as we said, there may be a genetic tendency, or it may be due to tiredness, hormonal changes, allergies, malnutrition, fluid retention, excessive coffee or alcohol, or smoking.

So the first tip to soften or disappear bags or dark circles is getting enough sleep and eat healthily. Eating lots of water help against fluid retention and use sunscreen prevent the appearance of dark circles worse. It is good decision to use a special moisturizer for the eye area at night, to decongest the area.

Cosmetology offers different types of treatments. In the case of dark circles, discoloration may be procedures that act on the melanin, peelings, that also get rid of darker pigments or can be used to whitening creams. In severe cases, there are laser treatments that correct the blood vessels and reduce the pigment. Then there is the Carboxitherapy, which involves injecting carbon dioxide into the eyecup, thereby stimulating the regeneration of the skin and therefore the clarification of the area.

The eye bags can respond to an accumulation of liquid or fat, or, again, to a genetic disposition. Severe cases can be treated with radiofrequency or surgery.

In the first case, applying a suitable product for the origin of the bag (draining effect, if they are due to fluid retention, or lipolytic, if they are for fat accumulation) and then radio to better penetrate their assets.

Moreover, the surgery, called blepharoplasty, is done through incisions along the natural lines of the eyelids. It removes excess tissue or fat, and strengthening the muscles and tendons in the area. The procedure is ambulatory, does not require hospitalization, but there will be some swelling and bruising for several days. The final effect will be seen after a few months.
